After nearly ten years in the food and beverage industry, writer and entrepreneur Jennifer Heigl has donned a whole host of hats. As business manager and co-owner of the award-winning Zen Kitchen Catering in Portland, Oregon, Jennifer managed operations of off-site events from 50 to 500, featuring the best in organic Pacific Northwest fare. As her family expanded, and the business came to a close, she penned a book on her experience, a 30-day-in-the-life dialogue on facilitating a catering business. Released in December 2007, Career Diary of a Caterer quickly became required reading in culinary courses across the country.
As editor of Daily Blender, Jennifer posts weekly onhappenings within the food and beverage industry from trends and news to exclusive content, traveling around the world to cover food and wineevents and talking with culinary professionals on the ups and downs of food service. Since the start of Daily Blender in 2008, Jennifer hasinterviewed favored chefs, restaurateurs, and producers, including Anthony Bourdain, Eric Ripert, Tom Colicchio, David Chang, Scott Conant, TomDouglas, and Michael Schwartz.
In addition to her busy home life, Jennifer will spend 2011 continuingwith her plans of world domination, first by being featured as a Thirsty Girl, and then by making Daily Blender even more fabulous while simultaneously finishing her second book, a collection of stories from her adventures as an entrepreneur and editor.
